IN EXPECTATION OF THE
BRUSSELS’ STATEMENT
Last week, a statement from Brussels has been arrived to the Macedonian
government in order Macedonia to prepare for the negative statement by the
European Commission, in which the date for the beginning of the negotiation
for membership won’t be mentioned, because they consider that we are not
ready yet. The European diplomats that are working on this statement – a
first one since Macedonia got a candidate status, are keeping it as the
biggest secret till 8th of November, when the commissar for expansion, Oli
Rhen, personally will reveal its content. According to some of them, it
isn’t hard to predict what the statement consists. For example, the last
year the most serious remark of Brussels was the no reforming if the public
administration, a cause that Brussels pointed out as a base in order to tell
to Macedonia that is not capable to negotiate for membership. The second
serious remark was the no reforming of the judiciary, and many other
remarks.
ENCOURAGING MESSAGE FROM
THE SUMMIT IN RIGA
We see in Macedonia as a future member of NATO, is the message that the
minister of foreign affairs, Antonio Miloshoski has received by the
representatives of the Alliance in Brussels, during the visit of the seat of
the organization. “Our expectations are realistic in relations to the
encouraged message from the Summit in Riga, although the text is till not
put in action. The meeting of the top of NATO in 2008 will be “our” Summit,
but till then we must finish our homework that refers to the reforms in the
economy, ruling of the law and the fight against the corruption”, are saying
from MFA. They explain that is realistic to receive a invitation for
membership in 2008. Miloshoski got a compliment for the participation of the
Macedonian soldiers in the international peace missions as well, as an
example of a small country that according to the possibilities fulfills the
NATO standards.
NO MACEDONIAN MINORITY IN
GREECE AND IN BULGARIA
According to the spokeswoman of the ministry of foreign affairs, Shpresa
Jusufi, the denying of the existence of the minorities sometimes can be and
ally of the confirmation of their existence. That is a comment of MFA in
relation to the claiming by the Greek chief of the diplomacy Dora Bakojani
that there is no Macedonian minority in Greece and the statement by the
Bulgarian ambassador in Macedonia Miho Mihov that only the EU can ask
Bulgaria if the Macedonians have right to candidate on the elections with
own parties in Bulgaria now when the country is one step to the Union. In
relation to the seeking for Bulgarian citizenship by the Macedonian
citizens, the stand of Mihov is that that is “one proper expression of the
will of the Macedonian citizens that feel like Bulgarians and want to get
citizenship”.
THE DISCRIMINATION OF THE
MACEDONIAN CONTINUES
The city court of Sofia has refused to re-register the party of the
Macedonians in Bulgaria, OMO Ilinden PIRIN. The cause for that, as it was
announced, was that there was a lot of disorderliness in the delivered
documentation for registration. Mainly, the mess was from administrative
character, but that was enough for the Court to refuse the seeking for
enrolling in the parties’ register. Stojko Stojkov,a spokesmon of OMO
Ilinden PIRIN called the decision as a “scandal one”.
“This is only a new confirmation that the discrimination and the braking of
the rights of the Macedonians in Bulgaria continues. We will inform the
authorities in the capital of the EU in Brussels. Now they also can see how
the rights of the citizens in a country that soon will be a member of the
European family are respected”, Stojkov said.
UNREAL INFORMATION FOR THE
ILLEGAL CONSTRUCTIONS
The municipalities of Skopje have delivered unreal information for the
number of the illegal constructions on their territories to the Ministry of
transport and communication and to the Government. Instead of hundreds of
illegal buildings, houses, roofs, balconies, superstructures, the Government
will receive a statement for the whole city that there are only tenths of
illegal constructions. Some municipalities didn’t feel collaborating with
the Government in the fight against the urban mafia. With that kind of
relation the question do the mayors buy time for the investors till the
carrying out of the law of legalization of the illegal constructions, is
still opened.
“THE TRANSITIONS IN THE
HISTORY AND IN THE CULTURE”
In the institutes for Macedonian language and literature and for national
history the international conference “The transitions in the history and in
the culture” was held, were more than 100 scientists participated, from who
thirty are foreign guests from more European countries, than from the
region, and from USA as well. The Macedonian institutes for the first time
have organized this kind of conference with a foreign institution, and that
is the Ethnographic institute and museum BAN, from Sofia. The theses of the
student are related to their areas, and with accent of the Balkan. On a
scientifically level was debated for the history, culture, literature,
language, ethnology, ethnography, demography and the migrations. |

PARLIAMENT TO RESUME DEBATING DRAFT
LAW ON COMMUNICATIONS MONITORING
Macedonian Parliament will resume Thursday the 6th session with draft law
for monitoring communications on the agenda.
Interior Minister Gordana Jankulovska elaborated the law at yesterday's
debate.
She said that the constitutional base for precise regulating of this sphere
was the amendment 19 of Macedonia's Constitution (2003) and international
protocols on combating organised crime.
The law on eavesdropping and wiretapping of communications regulates the
conditions for monitoring, operative manner, keeping and using of acquired
information and data and control of the act's legality.
The law says that citizens' communications may be monitored only by the
court, Interior Minister order, under strictly defined conditions in the
interest of the country's security.
MPs adopted the Law on Police at 6th session's previous resumption on
Monday. |
